Restaurant Konoba Pescaria
Goldschlagstrasse 22 ,
From Dubrovnik is the family Kunovac, who founded the Konoba Pescaria in 2003 in Vienna.
For the most sympatic service father Svabo and son Goran are responsible.
Mother Jele offers excellent Dalmation cuisine - almost no salt is used but in return great herbs and spices. Three times a week, the marine fish is freshly delivered from Zadar, but also for excellent lamb and veal is you are right in the Konoba Pescaria.
An excerpt from the menu:
Delicate, very discreetly with garlic perfumed octopus salad
"in saor" marinated anchovies
Dragon fish, sea bream, John Dory and many more
On the bone braised fantastic spiced monkfish with various stewed vegetables
Smoked ham "Pr`sut "- excellent mature
Hot pepper salami from Dalmatian production
The small wine list offers solid Croatian wines like the one on the island of Krk pressed wine called Zilahtina, a native grape variety which grows only on Krk and Vrbnik field.
Like it should be in a genuine Konoba (the counterpart to the Italian Osteria) the interior seems very sober and wonderfully bright with many remarkable historic maps and engravings.
In the Konoba Pescaria you feel the Istrian-Dalmatian joie de vivre!
